The war began when Nazi Germany invaded Poland in 1939 and raged across the world until 1945, which is marked by when Japan surrendered to the United States after atomic bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. By the end, an estimate of 60-80 million people had died, mostly civilians and among them, Russians and Chinese are on the top of the list (not even Jews, which is what they always talk about…).

War crimes tribunal were conducted against German and Japanese leaders.

Bad economy, weak governments and the Treaty of Versailles resulted in the rise of a new leader, Adolf Hitler who signed the German-Soviet Nonaggresion Pact with the goal of having them help invade Poland. Then Hitler immediately invaded Poland, then the Soviet Union later on June 22, 1941 Operation Barbarossa

Hitler invaded Poland on the first of September 1939, then two days later, France and Britain declared war on Germany, which marks the beginning of World War II.
