"I can think of no better person to direct these movies. Dune Messiah is about to give us our own LOTR level movie trilogy”
Paul
As far as I understand from only viewing the movie, Paul is very much an antihero but with good intentions. But it turned because of the situation he was forced into.
No more terrible disaster could befall your people than for them to fall into the hands of a hero.
Excerpt from Dune, that perfectly sums it up to what happens to the Fremen, for whom Paul is a real disaster. Far from leading them to paradise, Paul leads them into the hell of an interstellar holy war in which even those who survive will remain scarred, traumatized and will no longer be able to find happiness.
I feel like Paul is using the Fremen’s religious fanaticism as a weapon and makes the choice to use it as a way to defeat his enemies. But by making this choice, Paul awakens a force that he can no longer stop and traps himself in a position where all futures lead to destruction and desolation as seen in his dreams and visions.
Maybe Paul saw the only way he survives and Chani survives after drinking the Water of Life is to lead the Fremen into the war?? A greater goal? Greater good? Will need to read the books to know sadly… He does whatever it takes in order to survive:
We are Harkonnens, to survive, we must act like Harkonnens. - Paul
What he says to Jessica.
Did Paul see the end of the Fremen?
