MUSIC 246: Film Scores
Taught by Simon Wood. (One of the best prof on campus).
Class format:
- Classes are long and in form of lectures (But I loved them since he’s such an engaging and funny lecturer)
- The prof shares the slides/notes on learn but you need to attend his lectures to absorb his knowledge and wisdom and fully understand what’s on the slides
- I had 3 class tests and a final (all MCQ questions)
- Don’t be fooled into thinking MCQ would be easy. Simon’s questions can be tricky if you don’t put in the time to study and memorize everything he’s talked about in class

Final thoughts
If I could, I would definitely take MUSIC140 which is another course he’s teaching. But this elective is already fulfilling my List C.
I recommend taking this course, especially for music and film lovers.
The only downside is that this course do have a final.
